TÜREN AUF 2022 - "Die Maus" opens doors at KIT

After a two-year break due to the corona pandemic, the “Maus Türöffner-Tag” has opened again the common door of the institutes IPS and IBPT. Themed this year “exciting connections” (“Spannende Verbindungen”), this unique open day, initiated in 2011 by the „Sendung mit der Maus“, allows children to explore exciting places such as workshops, factories, and research institutes. Together with us, more than 40 young researchers between the ages of 5 to 13 years explored the link between a vacuum cleaner, a telephone, a microwave and a particle accelerator. With many hands-on experiments, they discovered the complicated path of electrons in these huge machines, and found out how to look inside pinecones and crystals.
